Triple Berry Crsip

So, it’s been a while since I last posted a creation. So, here is the latest and greatest. Triple berry crisp, why not, right? My parents have a raspberry patch in the backyard with a strawberry patch that they uprooted from my grandparents home. Last couple of years I haven’t been close enough to go and pick any while they’re in bloom. But my parents pick a lot and my mum usually does some canning. Makes strawberry and raspberry jam. So tasty.

Though these berries are not straight from my home garden they are just as sweet. Fresh picked berries are always the best, but next best thing is grocery store berries. Like the berries, the recipe is not home grown. I found the following recipe at AllRecipes.com. It was a quick and easy recipe and tasted great. Just ask my coworkers.

Triple Berry Crisp

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups raspberries
  • 1 1/2 cups blackberries
  • 1 1/2 cubs blueberries
  • 4 tbs sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cups butter

In a medium size mixing bowl mix together berries and sugar. Set aside. In another mixing bowl mix together flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Then cut in butter until mixture is flaky. In a 9×13 in pan press half of the mixture into the bottom of the greased pan. Layer berries on top of bottom layer. The add the rest of the mixture to the top, covering it completely. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes or until the top is golden and the berry juices are bubbling.

Enjoy!
